1987 Headlight Conversion

I'm confused. To accomplish the H4 conversion on my 1987 911, what do I need.

Do I need the primed headlight ring cover and the various screws or is this just for 1986 and older?

Do I need the plug adapter on an 89?

Thanks in advance......

You need the headlignt rings and the plug for the H4's. My H4's came with the rings and all the needed fasteners.

You will need the plug adapter ( or you will need to cut the plug connector off and add an H4 connector that you can get from pep boys or any other auto house) to put the headlights in and I also reccomend the sucro relay kit when converting to the H4's. When you buy the H4 headlights they will come in either a primer black finish or a chrome finish, the black you can paint to match your car.

I'll search for some pics...I think I took some while I was doing my conversion

1st cut the plug off and install adapter...1st pic is the old OEM plug and 2nd pic is the new adapter, it's like $9 @ Pelican...all you do is push one side down to open the back side to allow for the wires to slide in.

then plug onto new headlight.....mine are the flat black rings

Thanks!

Are your flat black rings the rings that came with the headlight kit or are they the "Euro Primed Headlight Ring Cover". My confusion is that this "primed" cover says it is for 74-86 911s, but Pelican says I need it for my 87.
I'm just checking to see if this is accurate.

they are part of the headlight kit, you can order them w/ either the flat black or the chrome...there is also another trim ring you can get, but these are all you need.
Part # from pelican is C-631-113-02 and the adapter is PEL-111941165C. I noticed on my receipt that it also says 65'- 86' but mine fit perfectly.
