Ball joint wedge bolt seating in strut
I assume the wedge bolt should sit flush in the strut. I had a heck of a time getting the ball joint shaft into the strut.
Do I have a do over here? New wedge and new ball joint maybe? Or more pounding on it with brass drift and 5 lb sludge? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

nope it does not have to be flush..you have it just fine.I did mine today and it is even more showing out;-)
btw to my surprise i have already did the bushing in the past-most likely back in 1996-7 when i got the 911 and totally forgot about it--way too many beers since then;-) Well, i did them anyway -not my favorite job thou;-)))))))))))) Ivan

When I changed mine, it stuck out a similar amount. I did a bit of searching, and it seems to be common. I have not had any issues.

It’s a wedge. Doesn’t matter how much is showing as long as it’s doing its job. There is torque measurment.
