Another hood mounted Cibie question

Has anyone ever compared the hood mounted Cibies to the Oscars side by side? How close are they dimensionally? From looking at pictures the lenses look exactly the same. Is the the case? What about the rest of the housings?

I am wondering if the Oscars can be modified to replicate the hood mounted versions? Need to make the tab and somehow attach it to the bottom of the Oscars.

I am building a 914/6 GT replica and on this car the hood mounted Cibie's are mounted inside the front bumper with the tab hanging out. The rest is hidden inside the bumper.

I am thinking if they look exactly alike from straight on, size wise of the lenses, and make the tab would save roughly $500.

Anyone have any opinions, suggestions, thoughts?

Thanks, Peter
