SC backdate question

Thinking of doing the RS backdate to the ‘80 SC.

Anyone use a RS fiberglass rear bumper on a SC?

(Did a search and it tells me that "SC" is too short to search with, needs 3 characters.)

Thanks

Mike,

I backdated my 76 with SC fenders. I have an RS rear bumper and S front bumper. I'm using steel 1971 fendersd and a fiberglass hood.

Now I just need to finish the detailes in the bodywork and paint it...

Edit: I sent you an e-mail reply after the wheels got there, but I got bounced. Anyhow, I'm glad they arrived safely...shoot me ma picture when they are done. I'd love to see how they turn out. Have fun!

I'm making a rear that fits on the later cars w/o any cutting or grinding :-)

If I can ever free up my time to do this right, we'll have a urethane version!

Souk, I'm working on the Fuchs even as we speak. I'll send pics upon completion.

Do you see this rear bumper setup of yours coming to life anytime soon?, I'd be interested.

I'm a little chicken to start cutting up the rear end. I'm contenplating IROC look as well.

Thanks

I need to make the mold...then I can crank one our...I just need to find someone to build the engines for me while I work on the glass LOL!

With the new garage, I should have more room to play with such a thing Mike. It shouldd't take much time one I start. Maybe I can get you to test it out fo rme ;-)

I thought backdating the rear end was very straightforward? Is it a major job? I thought it was just removing the deflector support?

If the bumper you choose has the stock mounts, you will either need to cut off your bumper shock brackets, or cut the mounts off the bumper.

Well...to me it was.....I used a sawzall on my BABY. The other times I used a sawzall on a Porsche was when I was tearing one down. It was a unique experience....

Blue, search for my "Ultimate Backdate Thread." I posted pictures of my backdating on there...including the cutting of the reflector mounting tin.
