frozen tachometer

I put out of the garage my 84 Carrera after the winter time storage and...after starting the engine, the tachometer was dead.After about 20 minutes of driving it become alive and has functionned normally for the rest of the ride.It is not the first time that happen.Any hint for that malfunction...Thank you...Syl

The internal electricals are 22 years old, it's getting tired.
It is not uncommon for the situation you describe to occur after sitting in the sun (due to the gauge face expanding and hitting the needle) but I've never heard of that problem due to the cold.

When I say frozen...that s because it is dead...not by cold.It seem that as soon as the engine reach a certain temp....the problem goes...
