Toe-in "alignment" ?
With your great help I have finally managed to install my new turbo tie rods.
I am planning on going for a 200 mile trip day after tomorrow. We are promised great whether and the roads are very nice for Porsche driving. I was hoping I could go in the Carrera, but obviously not if the toe-in is severely off after the installation. Now, surprisingly enough the wheel shop I usually frequent and have confidence in, said I could come in tomorrow to have the toe-in checked out and adjusted. Would it not suffice ? I have not fiddled with any other items - only the tie rods. Then later on I will arrange for a complete four wheel alignment. |
Should take them 15 minutes max on fresh tie rod adjusters.
Or you could always set up parallel strings and do it yourself which will take a couple hours of fiddling with strings and and such. Changing the tie rods only affects your toe, so if your camber and caster were good before, they will still be good. |
Thanks Tim! Thats the answer I was hoping for.
