I laid a few larger pieces (about 8X10 inches, which is the largest I've done) yesterday. I think I didn't use enough hardner, because it was still very tacky, hours later. Usually, it's totally dry.
Is there any way to correct this? Can I just apply some harnder with a brush? I don't think I can remove the pieces I laid, now.

Chili, Try some heat lamps. That will speed up the reaction. However I'm not sure if that will resolve your problem. If you didn't add enough hardener or if it was old it might not work. I used to work with a fiberglass pro who always used heat lamps to speed up the work.

heat is right! if it has not fired in 24hrs, you'll probably need to scrape or sand it off. the cermic heaters are good, should not start a fire, and gets very hot.
-this is why many use West system epoxy. controled measurement via pumps, and much harder then polyester resin. you could try to coat it with another layer of mat and heavy resin, but most likely the center portion will always be soft and weak. |

Heat - sometimes sunlight will kick it off. In most cases - sand it off and start again... As far as the west system epoxy with the pumps - I have had that fail too - now I measure EVERYTHING!

Was your hardener old? That could be the problem.
