vaccum leak? *pic*

I'm trying to fix a slightly rough idle and what appears to be a rich mixture at idle. You can hear the exhaust sputter at idle. Car is also somewhat balky on shifts. Could this split hose on the back of the thottle body the possible culprit? car is a 1984 3.2 ROW. Unfortunately Pelican is out of this item and unable to source.

take the split hose off and pinch it closed. If that fixes your idle then it could be your issue. but don't you think it would run leaner if air was sneaking by there. does idle change when you plug or unplug the o2 sensor?

Take the hose to Pep Girl or Manual Zone, they can probably match it up.

using propane/kerosine/carb clearer is difficult.

It is a difficult are to reach with the AFM and airbox in place.

Do you just flood the area with the stuff?

seperate the AFM from the air filter housing and run the car. then you can reach back there with the gas if you want. Don't let anything get sucked up in the AFM while your running the car without the filter

just get some fluid on there so it'll seal the leak momentarily -- you'll hear the motor improve

oughta replace that thing sooner or later anyway tho...

I went to Autozone and purchased "feets" of each size vaccum hose and replaced all I could find. Had to purchase some of the other special type formed breather hoses. Takes a little work but worth it. Oh yeah mines an 88 3.2

Yes my idle improved. Also before replacing the hoses I could remove the oil tank cap and there was no change in idle, afterwards the idle would change when removing the oil cap.
