3.2 vs 3.0 muffler

I just bought a Carrera (3.2) muffler and have an 79 SC (3.0); is it a real trial to make it fit or should it be a simple conversion? (simple being bolt on)?

1.250 inches longer in what way? The "to the muffler" part is longer, the muffler is bigger, the exhaust tips are longer?

Just curious - could a whole 3.2 exhaust system be retrofitted to a 3.0 SC motor? Would it flow any better or be worth the effort?

I will be selling a Fabspeed 'premuffler' (catalyst replacement, no catalyst capability) and a Dansk Sport Muffler (1-in-1-out) when I put SSIs on in a couple of weeks, in case you or other SC owners might want them.

If you're thinking stock 3.2 muffler (once you've made it fit) would add performance over the 3.0 muffler, I think stock = stock (i.e. if it's flow or performance you want, get away from stock).

I made the mistake doing just the cat bypass and sport muffler (not that it didn't significantly improve the engine's power and sound but I should have listened to the little voice inside that said 'you know you'll do SSIs eventually') . In hindsight I'd have done SSIs, 2-inlet muffler all at once, then I'd not have the ordeal of finding a good home for my Fabspeed/Dansk combination.
