All Aluminum pressure plates. Where to find them?

What years did Porsche provide all aluminum with their clutches? Was it just '70 and '71. I'm looking for one in lieu of my pending transmission rebuild.

I know Sachs has a power clutch kit, but the flywheel, from what I understand, is not all aluminum, but rather aluminum with a steel face.

Thanks for your help.

I found one in my SC. ...and wasn't even expecting it.

Yeah, it's an Aluminum body with a steel spring element. (aluminum- not a great spring material.

dd74,
I think the aluminum pressure plates must have started in '76 or '77. I know my '77 2.7L engine came with one. Don't think they were on '75 & before.

When I bought my '82 SC I turned it over to my mechanic to go through completely.

He said "When Oy did your clutch, Oy put in a aluminium pressure plate(His British accent was bogus, the pressure plate was Sachs). Oy think you'll loyk it"

I said "O.k.".

Thanks guys. Thanks for the link Dr. Island. Here's a shot of the Pelican offering - which is OEM.

Anyone care to guess what the face material is - it's black, but what material is it? Aluminum or steel?

And can this piece work with a Sachs clutch, or will it require an OEM clutch?

Thanks again.

My 72 911 had an all aluminum clutch which was original. Very light but had a copper face on the pressure plate. If this is what you're looking for.... I really don't think anyone produces this type of pressure plate any more. Good luck!

The Pelican link reads for 72-86.

I doubt there is a problem with either disk. (d/k for sure)

No. I as well doubt there's a problem with either disk. What I'm after are the lightest possible components to offset the modest power of my engine, while also giving it faster revving capability.

I mean, I'm no longer part of that 3.0 liter and larger torque-meister knuckle-dragging set.
