'87 3.2 SSI heater boxes HELP!

Does anyone know about 3.2 Carrera SSI heater boxes? The ones available seem to be only for the SC style where the air blows in from the outsides. Carrera style goes in from the inner sides and is completely different. I've seen the version Rose Passion offers but they look like they've been cut off, modified and tack welded. I'm in a mess now that I've taken off my original exhaust system and can't seem to find the correct ones. Hopefully someone has had this problem and found a good solution. The SC version and shown backwards where the right and left are switched the way they go on the engine. Also the modified version by Rose Passion for 3.2.

I don’t understand the problem. SSI are all typical. Suposedly SSI made Carrera boxes with larger tubes but I’ve not seen them. Either way, Carrera boxes have the correct size insert into the heads, the SC boxes have smaller inserts into the heads so they’re not for Carrera.

I was looking at this one awhile back for my 86, 3.4 build. There are also others (Dansk) that are also 41mm OD, like the SSI for the 3.2, and there is no tin work, and it comes with crossover pipe (heat) and all the hardware which include new oil lines...

I ended up ordering a Dansk complete system from England and thought Pelican may carry them...

I see Dansk absorbed? bought? acquired? SSI so not sure if SSI is still just SSI. My mechanic ordered some Dansk products and they came in SSI packaging...or vice versa.

Erik, How do you like them? What is pictured is what Rose Passion is offering as well as Sierra Madre. Looking closely at the ends, it looks like they are the standard SSI for SC 911's but cut off and tack welded metal plates and tubes to adapt for the 3.2 style of the forced air through the heaters into the cabin. I guess I'll order that set along with the oil lines to convert as it appears this is the only option. Only worry is the tack welds should be solid welds to keep the possibility of fumes leaking into cabin from happening.

Pm me if you want to know where I purchased. My engine is getting the final touches with the build and I wont have the exhaust for a few weeks - the kit comes direct from Dansk but goes through a group in England.

The exhaust has a better outside diameter for the 3.2 at 41mm vs the 38mm(?) for the older cars. Inner diameter is the key.

I have seen at my shop and they also were for just the 3.2 and they looked great. Didn't get to hear them though...

My kit comes with a muffler but I have a different one being built by Brian at RarlyL8. Not sure what I will do with the new muffler.

With all that said I will be getting the exhaust in the next few weeks and will post back my thoughts if you haven't already bit the bullet yourself and purchased.

People who I have met at events and cross country trips with the Dansk/SSI love them. A fw had 3.2's with the newer design for just the 3.2 and are very satisfied.

I hope my results are just as good as to what I am hearing from others...
