Sepia is also very stealthy here in north Texas, kinda blends into the scenery.

Thanks for the nice words about my '72. It's been fun to rebuild.
Here's another gratuitous shot or two.

It didn't die, just had a slight hickup. A chain tensioner went bad and it made quite an awful noise. Higgins went over to his house and fixed it with some parts from JW. The rest of us just stood around watching. No adult beverages either.

The chart is from the 1972 Porsche Colors brochure the OO kindly left in the glove box.
I've tried to imagine myself back in '72 standing in the Porsche-Audi showroom looking at all the colors in that brochure and saying "make mine Sepia please."

The topic of color on a 911 is very subjective. But, I happen to LOVE the non-metalic browns on early cars. It is one of the all time GREAT colors to have. Brown became the "new black" in the early 70's and has been that way for over 3 decades IMHO.

Is this enough brown for ya.
I'm Porscheless at the moment, But I just happen to own a metallic brown Kenworth. The first owner ordered it this color, and I must say it's grown on me. Silver trim looks good with it. ![]() C15 Cat W/475 HP & 18 speed Roadranger. Sports truck
