Windscreen washer plug?

My windscreen washer and head lamp washer do not work. Right off, the hose connections seem a little odd. As you stand in front of the car and look at the washer pump, there is a T with hoses. I blew a little air through one of the hoses and got air out of the windscreen washer http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate/smile.gif. I then blew air through the other hose (off the T)and blew air back into the reservoir ( a over pressure return line?). On the other connection of the pump (Mounted closest to the left front tire) is what I guess is the feed to the pump. I tried to blow a little air though this line, but could not. I am guessing that this is a plugged line? Has anyone had any luck unplugging this line? Any ideas, or am I out in left field on this? Also the little toggle switch on the dash for the head light washer. Is this switch supposed to be a, spring loaded, momentary contact switch? Is this in series with the windscreen washer. Is it independent? While I am at it, what is the best book to buy for working on my car? Thanks for your help in advance http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate/smile.gif

P.S. This is an 84 911 cab. If that helps.
