how did you replace the carpet on the door panels? does it just rip off when you yank on it? and you just glue new carpet?

Paul,
Actually the door pockets on my 87 were broken and I did not want to try and repair plastic, so when I purchased the carpet, I had them send new door pockets with the carpet already installed on them.

I can't imagine that it would be hard to pull the old carpet off and glue on new.

Jerry

Embarking on this myself, and this has been extremely valuable. I plan to keep the asphalt and original sound pad in place, and just glue the new carpet over them, so my install should be simplified. We'll see- I will document it and post up pics, experiences, etc...

Hopefully yours is in better shape than mine....the back part of the carpet and the sound pad was so brittle that fell apart as soon as i just lifted the carpet

good luck with your project!

WHo did your carpet? I am about to replace my carpet after removing a similar amout of interior. I used Quiet Car dound deadner (water soluable liquid). On doors, roof, floor and rear panels. Much easier to use.

I bought my carpet kit from Bob at AppBiz. Great quality. I opted for the pricier, and more original, Sliverknit carpet.
