I've an 89 SA Edition ...I've not seen the alledged badges......don't really know about all this "badge" stuff...someone had posted a badge that was mounted on the front of the glovebox....I'm curious, as well, as to whatzup with this "badge" stuff on the 89 S.A. Editions......(U.S.)

Maybe someone in the know will chime in here.....

I certainly love mine,..she's a Silver Metallic Coupe that runs PERFECTLY!!

My best,

It was in the glovebox when the SA cars were delivered. Most were never attached, I would guess.

This same Emblem? Noted OUTSIDE, not inside?

Thanks,

My '89 SA badge was in the glovebox. It was not mounted. I'm glad it was not mounted as it looks a bit over the top. However I'm glad it came with the car.

Where's Bill Blass?

NLA years ago from PAG, but if you feel you can't live without one, I would try the usual suspect Porsche salvage yards.

Although, they may tell you that because of the little plate's extra super special rarity, they can't let it go for less than a few hundred bucks.

with all the water cooled and bloated 911s these days, i think all air cooled 911s are special editions.. indeed.

Although I've got one of the '88 Commemorative Editions that supposedly came with a similar emblem on the glove box, my car doesn't have it, nor do any that I have personally seen. YMMV, but I wouldn't want one on my car, and I'd have removed it to save weight anyways .

Good for at least the equivalent of .000364 horsepower. To each their own, but I think they look cheap and tacky and a 911 "don't need no stinkin' badges"

Thanks for information
I've read an interesting trhead about commemorative edition (MY88) and anniversary edition (MY89).
I would like to know if someone can send me a copy (CD scan or other) of brochure Commemorative Edition and 25th Anniversary Edition.
I can pay you the cost of ship.

I want to understood the different between the model's 88 e 89 badge.

the Commemorative Edition had a badge
it was only taped to the glovebox
The US badge is written in german , but with the addition MY.88
The ROW version says 1987.

What's do you think about the photos at pag.88 of "original porsche 911" of Peter Morgan?

Regards

As to the request for ad material (or data), I've a Silver Anniversary brochure that I can photocopy for you, sometime next week. I'll throw in the sticker copy, as well. PM your mailing address,..and I've got the postage covered.

Best,

Cool Anniversary Badge

I have mine mounted on my glove box where it intended to be . Quite a conversational piece . Funny how the guys who don't have the badge say they wouldn't mount it if they had . Hmmmmmmmmmm
My Silver Anniversary displays it proudly !!!

It's "badge envy", pure and simple I tell ya....I'm also EXTREMELY envious of the cars that have a "Carrera" emblem on the rear deck lid too . Here's a link from the archives that contains scans of both the '88 and '89 special edition brochures.

Keith: funny!!!

Strange,..I was just looking for the thread you just posted (for the gent's curiosity). Helps to clarify the misuse of descriptors for 88 and 89.........especially "how many" came to the US..(special?)

..still wish I could find that frikin' badge (just for when I sell it...if ever)

MATTEO: post a pic of your SA edition....

Best to all,
