Targa Sun Visor Mod?

I have a recently purchased 89 targa. Minor thing, but I have found that I miss my prior 86 coupe's sun visors - specifically the ability to unlatch and turn to the side. My drive in the morning and evening put the sun directly in the driver's window. Is there a mod to the Targa/cab sun visors to allow this? I can't be the only one to think about this.

thanks

My '74 had lousy sun visers too and being tall they were somewhat in my way.

I took them off and carry two ball caps in the car for sun visors now.

yeah!
You're right.
That's the other gripe. They ARE in the way. When I lean forward I hit my head on the leading edge.

Back in the "70s I had a Fiat X1/9. Same type of fixed sunvisor. But I remember that i had a 6x12 piece of tinted plastic that would stick to glass. I'd just stick it where the sun would shine. As the glare changed position I'd peel off the plastic and reposition it. I've wondered many times where I got it. It would sure come in handy again.
I guess I didn't solve your problem, but yeah I've cursed that visor myself.

I don't know if it would work, but if you could acquire a pair of coupe sunvisors, you might be able to mount them (minus the inboard anchoring clip) and get the swivel action back?

At 6' tall, I quickly got tired of bumping my forehead into the edge of the visors. I just removed them and put 'em into storage. Good sunglasses take care of the sun most fo the time.

Mine work perfect...sitting in the garage. I got tired of whacking my head also so switched to a baseball cap. Someday I'll sell the visors along with all the other stuff I've pulled off the car.

thx guys,

Seems there is no obvious solution. I'll probably remove mine too.

Juan,
I had an 82 X1/9. Bought it new. Despite their reputation, that was one of most reliable cars I've owned and was a lot of fun to toss around. Little power, but fun.
