Has anyone tried this stuff?

I've used it on Ford trucks with good results.

weird, I just read a big huge thread about it on a m5 board. Most of them say it works well.

Worked well on my Boxster.

How is it applied? Is the air filter removed and the CRC sprayed into the opening?

Used it on the slk, our current ML320 and the previous ML320. Works great. You have to remove the sensor itself from the plastic housing and spray the wire down. Thats about it. Clear the MAF code if you received one. On mercedes this is usually P0170 and P0173.

I use it on my Bug. You simply spray it on the wire. DONT touch the wire! Let it air dry and spray it again. while it drys for the second time clean your air filter and wipe down the engine area while checking for anything loose or amiss. Before re-assy clean the wire contacts of the connectors and be done.

I'm not sure what car you have but the "wire" everyone is talking about only appears in Heated Wire devices. I don't believe Porsche implemented these until the 993? The vane device that is on Pre '95 (again not positive on year) cars is a totally different animal. All I can add is that in the Mustang world it was out of fashion to clean the MAF; a few people were having idle issues afterwards and most found they were already pretty darn clean anyway. I've never been a big fan of whole-sale dousing of anything for fear of getting liquid stuck where it shouldn't be; washing away grease, and exposing plastics and rubbers to solvents that may dissolve them.

It's for a 3.2, and the literature says that it doesn't damage plastic or wires in the sensor like solvents would.

All the Motronic 3.2s had mechanical "vane" MAF sensors as far as I know. Personally, I wouldn't get near mine with any liquid that comes out of a spray can. Or any liquid that wasn't applied precisely and methodically for that matter. If the vane itself moves freely I'm not sure how much cleaning one would require. But that's me and I also don't pressure-wash engines so take it with a grain of salt.

All 3.2's with DME have the vane sensor, which is a VAF (volume air flow) and not a MAF. Using this on them won't do any good at all...

Thanks, I knew that it wasn't the hot wire setup, but I thought that it was still considered MAF. I'm glad that I asked.
