Sienna Mettalic

Here's my US Spec 1977 2.7L 911S in Sienna Metallic which I can confirm qualifies for "brown". Very cool car. Love it on the European twisties. Not too many cops in the Czech Republic and they usually stop me just to oogle the car. ;-))

Nice posts,

I couldn't help myself when I say my current car. Fell in love with the color and think it looks great with the chrome.

Oh, yeah. That's nice. I think the PORSCHE lettering is a nice touch too.

So if you start out with a trashed brown 76 you get creative.

Keeping a family tradition alive

For some reason, my family has owned brown cars. My dad a 68 Buick Skylark (he claimed it was gold when it rolled off the showroom floor) and a 78 Olds Delta 88, my grandfather an 84 Pontiac Bonneville, my aunt an 86 Toyota Supra, my uncle a 78 Camaro. I even owned a goldish 84 BMW 533i. So I guess it came to no one's surprise that the first Porsche was going to be brown - I'm just surprised that it was the perfect car for me. Built by Farnbacher Loles, the defunct racing shop in CT, I acquired it from Wayne Carrini's F40 shop manager Mike. It's an almost RS build on the original 1975 2.7 S with some absolutely remarkable upgrades from the engine through the drivetrain to the paintwork, Bitter Chocolate T3 - the original color - by Robbie Reuter. It just never looks the same in different kinds of light. Absolutely LOVE this car, hope you enjoy the pics.

My 1976 Turbo Carrera in paint to sample brown. Color code is 445, so far the only match I have found is 1975 Toyota brown. It's a very interesting color. looks almost black at dusk but it's a very rich brown in direct sunlight with some hints of gray. I think it works very well with the bright trim. This is not sun faded black trim like so many early 930's, this car was ordered new with bright anodized trim instead of black. Whatever shade of brown this is, I absolutely love it!

Some more pics from my brown car

Still very pleased going for this car in this color :-) really great to see the other shades of brown on this topic! Didn't know there were so many variants.

Just installed the 17's x 8's on the rear - 16's x 7's on the front - getting ready for a trip - working on installing the Turbo Tie Rods today.

Still need to redo the front wheels and clear coat the rears.
