stalls when I turn left
 

My 79SC starts and runs great but just recently whenever I turn left (even at low speed) it stalls until I straighten the car out. Going straight or right it pulls like crazy and doesn't miss a beat. It feels like its a electrical problem, just as if I turned the key off for a second and then it starts back up, no backfire or popping.

The last work I performed was plugs, rotor and cap. I thought it might be the coil wire pulling out but that is fine. The motor mounts seem solid and the motor doesn't jump around when revving the engine. Any ideas:confused:

I really don't have much more to contribute other than that!
Start with the simple stuff, move the wiring harness around with the car running and see if that causes your cut out.

I had the exact same problem on my '70 a few years ago. It turned out to be an electrical intermittent ( small lateral G loading) in the ignition switch. Try a slight jiggling/preloading (lateral, or up-down) the key as you are turning left to see if that affects the problem. That's how my problem was diagnosed.

Do you have a "heavy" key-ring? I've never heard of it related to Porsches, but I do remember a local mechanic (many years ago) eventually diagnosing the same type of problem one of his customers was having, the cutting out was due to the heavy (lots of keys) key-ring and a worn ignition switch causing intermittent elctrical failure of the switch.

My very first car, a 1981 Pontiac Phoenix, developed exactly that symptom, but only at 'higher' g-levels (for a 1981 Phoenix at any rate). I could not find the problem. After about 6 or 8 months, it switched to the AC fuse blowing every left turn - much more desireable. I never solved the issue, but the AC stopped working eventually, so I stopped worrying about it ...

Battery cables tight?
Check for metallic foriegn objects behind/in/near fuse box
No backfire / popping may indicate it's a fuel issue (if it was spark the unburnt fuel would ignite when power is restored = bang!)
