Too A/c Or Not Too A/c?
Hi, i have an 83 cab with a/c that i don't use, i think it needs a charge nonetheless, since i am not using it would i hurt or damge anything, such as the compressor, by removing the belt, in theory i should get a little more power, i don't want to remove it physically from the car, it just wouldn't be justified to me as a weight reduction over eliminating the stock appearence and possible future use. thanks bob

No problem. A lot of people do that. I did, then I removed the rest of the A/C.

I pulled the belt on my 85 cab. No problems whatsoever.

No problem, but you're not going to see the increase in power that you suggest... none at all, since the compressor isn't engaged.
