Hard oil line conversion- mate old crossover to thermostat line?

Hi,

I bought a complete set of oil lines and cooler from a '77 or so 911 for my '73 911. Rather than buy a new hard oil line to go to the thermostat, would it be possible to mate the portion of the old line coming from the engine to the SC portion of the line near the thermostat?

Any one do it? I would rather avoid having to spend about $170 for a new line.

Thanks,
Neil

Would something like the large "90" in this photo help?

They are steel and can be cut & welded. I have 90's & 45's & a few other configs in between. Perhaps you could combine the lines you have with one of these.

They are $10 - $15 each, and I have any length of oil hose you want.
