Blue vinyl paint/dye. Help!

Say does anyone know where I might purchase some blue vinyl paint to match our standard Carrera blue interiors? I just recovered some vintage Recaro LS seats in what I hoped was a close match. They are hideous just hideous bright blue not even in the same solar system. I'm looking for an alternative that doesn't involve several hundred more dollars if anyone has suggestions?
They have not yet been sat upon and I'm hoping to disassemble them and spray them and then add some black very low cut sheepskins down the middle in the high wear areas.
Thought ideas suggestions welcomed please.

Thanks,

Scott

Try searching "surflex"

Car Care Specialties and others have it in custom colors

How about a pic of the "hideous" seats?

M110,

I'd love to oblige but they are in Los Angeles and I'm in South Florida. At night I can see them on the western horizon. I might be overstating a bit but they are electric navy blue if you can imagine that disparate concept.

I don't know if I was out of my mind after looking at 200 swatches or the actual material did not resemble the sample. Either way I'm stuck with them.

Thanks for the two sites fellas I'll check them out and I'm still open to ideas.

Scott

agree 100% with leatherique, I used there product a couple times and it works great you just need to spend some serious time prepping. The better the prep the better it turns out!

Well worth it!

I just had the seats and RS door panels in mine recovered. When I had it done I took one of the original door panels with me to get a color match that was pretty close. What I ended up with was just a shade lighter than the original Marine Blue. I like the slight contrast, I also went with a fabric insert in the centers that are a two tone black and blue that don't really photograph well. You should be able to take an arm rest or door panel to your local automotive paint store and have them make a can or two of vinyl dye for you to use....

I'm looking to dye my 'beige' seats in a few ususal areas, not an all out redying, just touch up. There seems to be a few beiges - Champaign, Cashmere, Savanna . . How do you know what you have? I don't have the window sticker

ask for a test color of each and see what matches your interior

Don,

Thanks for the pictures, that is an inspirational group of shots. I'll post before and after when I get home.

Guys I like that "surflex" has an off the shelf can of Marine Blue yet I'm seeing testimonials for "leatherique".

More opinions??

Thanks to all,

Scott

+1 on leatherique. about $65 for custom match dye. snip 1" square from underside and send to them. You can only see corner of pass seat in the before pic. enough to give you an idea.

Really liked the Surflex. Went on very easy, no streaks, and was a great match.

Really appreciate the pic's Gator and the opinion Dasch. Doe's the Surflex/leatherique come in a spray can or is it brushed on?
