Flat spot
Hi all. New to the forum. A little history. I've owned two 911 in my life. A 1985 Red coupe Euro import coupe. Sold that and picked up a 1985 USA Targa. It is in a lot better condition.
The problem I seem to be having is under hard acceleration. It seems to go and hit a flat spot then go and flat spot and go. It maintains speed and the RMPS don't race, so I think that it rules out the clutch. Pulling a hill or under a load it does it. I have put new intake manifold gasket sets and spacers and also the rubber boot between both intake manifolds. I have also put new spark plugs, rotor, cap, Air filter, fuel filter, and valve adjustment. Put a cat bypass/test pipe. All that and it still does it. Any help would be great. When it wants it pulls great. But it seems that under load is when it does it. My mind is telling me fuel issue. But all the techs here could help would be great. Robert Oh its a 1985 us spec 3.2 911. Only mod is the pipe now. It has 87,000 miles and it did sit for a year. Tons of work on it since I got it. Thanks. Bench test your Air Flow Meter. It may have deep grooves on the Potentionmeter.
You have to hook up a 9 Volt source to properly measure with DVM for proper tension.
