993 to 86 carrerra deck lid

Hi,

Does anyone have any experience with fitting a 993 deck lid to an 86 carrera. I know that the hinge brackate are different and need to be brackatted to fit but is the physical size/shape the same.

Thanks

Mark........

It's fairly straight forward to do with a 964 deck lid....
Not sure about a 993 but I'm guessing the aperture would be the same.

This is worth a look.... http://rennlight.com/howto/c2-lid/index.html

i believe I read somewhere that the lids are slightly different in shape towards the bottom. I could be wrong.

Lots of work.. 964 lid is interchangeable with the hinge mod. Matt-Man hear on the board offers the mod.

993 lid is a whole different animal. The lid is actually shorter, you would need to change the closing panel to make it work.

Thanks everyone.....The lid I looked at is for a 993....ok will have to look eslewhere. If it was a simple bracket that would be fine but if the lid needs work then it is now worth the time and money.

Cheers
