Any other pics of actual cars that have SC flares reversed and attached to front fenders? Looks like a few of us have been thinking the same things... Whose gonna be first (at least out of this group anyway...)

IMO SC size rear flares don't look right when combined with turbo front flares. To me the front flares look bigger than the rear SC/Carrera flares. Almost like the turbo fronts are true 9" flares where the stock SC/Carrera rear flares are more like 8" flares.
If you do what obrut mentions - widening the rear flares by an inch or more, then it'll look good. I was going to do this myself, mounted the front 930 fenders and everything, then decided to go with turbo width rear flares to balance the size of the front 930 flares. |

I am guessing that if a 9" bumper were used up front, with a reversed SC flare, the bumper might need to be narrowed???

I agree with those that think sc rear flares with front turbo flares will look unbalanced. I love the ST look and was thinking the same thing when I bought my 77. I saved these pics from this forum a while ago and thought it was a cool idea. If you did use reversed front steel turbo flares on the rear then bought turbo front fenders, I think it would look great!

bump again - anyone tried this yet? Either the SC flares on all four corners or the front turbo flares on all 4?

On another note, has anyone done just the rear with ST flares and kept the front stock-no flares?

I will be doing this. Right now my car is stripped for a total respray and I have turbo front flares lined up for the rear. Perfect time to do it BUT..... I have the once-a-never opportunity to buy a 1958 TVR Grantura race car so I need to postpone it to next year. The year will give me time to think about the rest of the project. I think I'm going to go with (951) 8's & 9x16 and modifying the lip on the flare to match the narrow front. I still don't know what fiberglass rear bumper im going (or can) use. And what tires for that matter. I'll keep you updated.
I'm going to leave the front narrow fenders. I recently saw a picture of an ivory longhood that came out of TRE's shop. Narrow front, flared rear. It looked amazing.
