1980 SC hard oil line

I am installing a new "hard" oil line from the pump/case to the flex fitting at the right rear of the engine. Do I need any type of thread sealant at the threaded nipple to the case ? thanks - Dennis

The sealing of the oil line is done by the mating surfaces of the line and the nipple, not the threads. If anything, put anti-seize compound on the threads but do so very carefully and sparingly to ensure that no compound gets on the mating surfaces.
