Clunker program
Today I was putting gas in my car, when this ford salesman give me his card and ask me if I heard about the trade in your clunker program ....I was WTF your talking about. ...what would you have done.....I'm just shaking my head...
I would remind the dummy that program is over. What were you driving when he made the offer?
My 74-911s.... I think he was being a smart a$$, dumb a$$...
Obviously the ford salesman doesn't know much about the value of older Porsche's.
I wouldn't take it personally. He just ignorant and looking to drum up some business in these difficult times. My SC is a 1978... My daily is a 1994 VW Golf VR6. I maintain both myself. Whenever I see people driving a newish car I always find it amusing. ;) |
A car lot here is still advertising cash for clunkers also. I guess they are giving cash for a trade in on a new vehicle.
Used car lots in my area are jammed with cars, somehow I don't think they all got sent to the compactor.
Dude ... he is just trying to spread the wealth.
While we are on this topic. September 2009 Panorama states on page 71 that the people who participated in Cash for Clunkers will have their rebate considered as taxable income by the IRS. I looked into this statement and found that it was a blatant rumor. I am no fan of Cash for Clunkers ... but I expect better info out of Panorama. |
Saw that also. Also know it to be false...it was actually discussed in Off Topic here. I am continually amazed at the incorrect information that is printed in magazines, newspapers, web sites and reported in televised news. Sad what journalism has become...just a medium for advertisements.

Ford salesman is SMART!
He will give you $4500 for your P-car (not crush it but sell it) and rip you off for a new Ford. |
well by the way i look at him....he thought i was an a-hole...LOL...what an insult....
Ford did make a "P" car The CLASSIC 74 Pinto. See if you can upgrade to one of those.
If it doesn't blow up on the test drive...
