I am getting ready to have my 911 repainted. The drivers door has a couple of dents as well as some rust at the bottom rear edge that was poorly repaired in a previous respray. While getting estimates, some shops recommended repairing the door while others recommended getting a new skin. Has anyone used these replacement pieces before and if so, did you have good results? Thanks.

I purchased some door skins prior to my resto project, as I thought my doors were "unsalvagable" due to dings and some rust bubbles at the bottom.
The body shop was able to work miracles on my doors and didn't even need the skins after all, so I returned them...so now I have unmolested factory doors that are good as new. In other words, I would get an opinion from the folks who will be doing your metal and paint work prior to buying the parts. Chris C. |
