x-large ducktail?

can anyone identify this ducktail? this is the only car I've seen one like this on before.

NO. I DO NOT NEED INFO ON THE CAR. just the ducktail/decklid

contact info for LA964RS would also be useful

Very interesting piece, I'm curious as well. It looks like a turbo duck (if there is such a thing) But seriously, I would love to put a duck back on my car but Forced induction doesn't allow it. This looks like it actually might work. Anyone ???

There are several Turbos running ducktails. The stock intercooler should clear with some trimming of the shroud. Some run custom intercoolers, one had two that were welded together at an angle to "bend" it around the motor.

It's covering a 993TT engine, so I would imagine the ducktail was a one-off.

The operative word is custom intercooler $$$$$$ I dont think having a custom intercooler made is a viable solution to installing a $400 ducktail. Besides, I am running a centrifugal type supercharger that requires the room of a turbo tail so that is why I was intrigued by this ducktail, but thank you for your suggestion none the less.

The one in the green car does not look custom. Maybe aftermarket, but not all hacked up.

From the FS ad: "As seen in the pages of Excellence, Total911 and Porsche&911 World."

Look in the magazines around the time the old advert was posted. I am sure in the articles they will tell you how the tail was built or yield who built it.

Also, talk with Gary (Sonjay) and see if he can build one. Probably wont be cheap, but it will be unique!

modded or one off tail, I think the owner is quoted in excellence stating there was a s-load of hours just in the tail.

That's my friend Robert's ride. The tail is all custom (as is just about everything else). He had the duck seal perfectly to the intercooler which created max airflow through the IC. It was wicked fast and you had better be pointing straight when give it the gas.
