Who currently has one of these? What type for reading Porsche Microfiche? I just purchased a new parts microfiche and I'm contemplating buying a reader..seem to be pretty cheep on ebay...advice...should I just go to the library and use theirs?

It is possible to go to a library and make paper copies of you fiche. A used reader should not cost more than $50.00. Check your local state surplus for auctions.

JDanial-

Check ebay, the manuals are for sale all of the time. However, check MyPorsche first, they are typicaly cheaper then the ones on ebay!

I also have the parts and the service manuals on fiche. I got my reader off EBay for $20. Works great. Its just a light bulb and some lenses, not much could be wrong with it assuming the tray assembly works.

One note though, the service manuals are standard format, but the parts manuals are "large" format. I had to cut mine to view them on my standard format reader. Works ok, but switching between them as you are trying to locate a part is a pain. Get a large format if you can find one.

Nick.

There's a salvage place near my place that has two skids full of IBM readers behind his building. Owner says, $1 each, your pick. Went through 6 to get two working ones. Total cost $2 and a bee sting. Now I need manuals.

Exclamation

Someone should get smart and put them on CD.
And sell them. Cheap of course.

I have never seen a copy! Are they good or are they great. I am rebuilding a couple of 2.7's and I don't have one due to cost! Is it really worth the money?
