The famous maxim that likely describes many 911 owners:

"I'd rather be riding my motorcycle thinking about God than sitting in church thinking about riding my motorcycle."

I

I still really love a good driving 911, and I do mean a good driving one, that begs you to get out on an early Sunday morning while everyone else is still in bed.

Man I hear you... it can be almost spiritual. I knew I wasn't the only one getting up early on Sunday

To the more respectful respondents, my original post had no sinister purpose. People often post asking about whether 911’s can be used as daily drivers. Yes, I used mine reliably for 10 years. I sold it for the same reason most people sell cars; to me its limitations had exceeded its rewards.
HLADUN......I was not being disrespectful, especially to someone I do not know.....merely expressing my feelings.....

1980 911 SC. Bought at the age of 42. Now 47. Love driving it every day. No A/C and I live in San Diego. It's black on black. Love the sound of the motor. Take the kids to school - they are 5' 7" and complain about the small back seat but are thankful not to take the bus. I removed the CAT and put a bypass on with a performance stainless steel exhaust just to hear the exhaust better. Radio amp blew out over a year ago. Don't miss the CD or radio. LOVE the feel of the road. Friends who ride with me either get it or don't get it but I don't care. It's exactly what I want and have wanted since I was 10 and saw a 911 RS. So the dude fell out of love? I don't believe it. He never loved it. I will drive my car until it breaks and then I will repair it and drive it until my license is taken away. I've put 80,000 daily driving miles on it (Now over 200K miles on the ODO) and will keep this one on the road because it's loyal and deserving as a driving car. If you "don't get it" with this kind of car, that's OK. Just move along. The dude who sold me this car bought a Harley and I'll bet he's happy for the same reason I'm happy to go the garage EVERY morning.

I wouldn't consider most Porsche owners in the category of "people who sell cars" but rather enthusiasts that love their cars--that description would fit most of the people on this site.

It is kind of hard to understand someone that sells their 30+ year old car because it isn't "practical"--you think?? But I am sure it happens all the time- people change, priorities change- its all good.

For me, the limitations won't exceed its rewards as long as I can go down to the garage and enjoy its lovely shape. My solution to the lack of practicality was just to add to the collection

No "sinister purpose"? Then why did you post the same thing to the Rennlist forum? Looks to me like a bit of fishing going on. And it worked!

Because I've been an active member of both forums. If you looked you'd know that I have been a member on this forum for longer than you have and I have made many more posts.

Dude, don't pick THAT fight, neither one of you has enough street cred to use post count as an argument.

It doesn't matter what your "agenda" was when posting this. (If you even had one)
Don't know and don't care what Don Ivey's intention was with his fishing comment... looks like YOU took HIS bait big time.
Don't let your last posts be part of a fight.
You know, maybe you'll be back someday...

Play nice, both of you.

Like a Ray Harryhausen film, this thread is really, really bad; but in an inexplicably good way....

... Please put us all out of our misery and just disclose what you're now driving!

Douche Nozzle... the hate comments and the victim thing is abit old. Unless you have 10,000 posts.. shouldnt be playing that card.

This thread needs to die...
