Beautiful write-up. If only I could follow the footsteps.

Anyway, I've gotta say, I have a bit of garage envy. It looks so much better in-use than it does in post #3 on this site: Garages at Night Thread - The Garage Journal Board. (I wasn't sure if that was the same Jack Olsen people talked about here when I saw the garage thread, but I guess it is.) For those who have not seen these garages... man; there is inspiration all 'round.

Tyson is working in WA state? Do say? Trade six months of living in a cabin with a view of Lake Cle Elum for a 2.4 73.5 rebuild?

Nicely executed Jack/Tyson. I will be taking a look at the DME this weekend when I get back and let you know if I can bring it back from the dead. What's that story about the fire. I hope this wasn't anything major.....

Nice, you are a lucky man to have such great friends!

Tell us about the breather setup

while the hyd lifters do go bad on occasion keeping the revs to their intended levels keeps them in spec a lot longer

Jack - wow didn't think you could make that car any better, guess I was wrong. I love the garage. I love that you have lighting set up for when the garage door is open - but I can't figure out how those lights are hanging and have the door operational. Being married to a designer I can tell you do something creative for a living.

Glad to see BB 2.1 back on her feet... Congrats - and hopefully something can be worked out with the 1995 3.6 prior owner.

Jack,

I second all the compliments above. I'm having mind done by Patrick Motorsports in Phoenix. I'm not a mechanic at all and they already have the 993 motor already modified and complete..ready to install. One of the things for exhaust that he offered was exactly what you have...simple use the 993 cat as a muffler/cat. He said it would be louder but not being a real fan of excessively loud pipes I'm nervous about that. I also have to worry about BAR/smog. Could you tell me if this set up is really too loud for a street car? A sound clip would be great but that's asking a lot, I suppose.

I tried it briefly. Way too loud for my ears.

Nice to see BB2.1 back in action.
Hope the electronics box is still working for you.
Let me know if you need anything else in the "sparky" area that I can be of use to you.
Now that I am retired, I can spend a little more time on the funner things of life...LOL

Jack, have you checked the part number on the engine harness? Most 95s were involved in a recall that replaced the harness for corosion and fire hazard. Could have been a possible cause of the previous fire and surely dont want it to be the cause of another one!

http://www.pcarworkshop.com/images/c/c9/Engine_wiring_harness_9752_2002_6tu901a02us.pdf

There are some part numbers listed in there to see which harness you have or if it needs to be updated. Surprisingly, its only @ $85.00 compared to the identical $750.00 original!

no mufflers

ran just cats on my 3.6 swap. Wake the dead loud, probably wouldn't pass db restrictions at most tracks. On the plus side it's cheap and you retain the cats.
