Thanks for the work in putting these together.

I have (2) suggestions:

Imho, in the June photo, the concrete block in front of the car, and the bus behind the car (as well as the text on the bus) really detract from seeing the car and distract the viewer. I suggest using cropped versions of either of 2 other pics by dtw.

For example:

Also, and this is just my 2 cents, the photo for April is a good "art shot", but it not "Porsche" enough for my tastes. Perhaps I'm remembering the famous Ferrari photo that shows a 308/328 from the same angle.

My personal preference (after my own car, or course) is to use one of these for April.

Showing the car's lines close-up with scenery in the distance:

Or showing an alternate perspective view:

Again, thanks for the work.

going down the highway in the rain = april. those look like june, july, or march. that or the red targa autocrossing through the puddles

I think I'll swap out dtw's pics for the 1st one above. Hopefully the photo will be clear enough after cropping out much of the pic. But I'll try it anyway.

As for the close up of a red targa...I wanted to use this one but noticed that it had white paper laying on the ground. I suppose I could photoshop it "black" like you did above. I'm not sure if I can do that without downgradiing the resolution.

Thanks for your inputs!

This is a nice one! If I use this pic it would have to replace one of the pics in a preliminary calendar with a tail. I don't want to add more tailed 911 (except for a duck tail).

For those that wants a pic of a cabriolet we need a better photo! Some pics are cropped too close. Others has uninteresting background, etc.

Mike (and all), thanks for the feedback and I am deeply honored to be the preliminary pick for June 2011. I am fine with whichever photo you ultimately decide upon (if I make the final cut). Please be advised - if one of my pics does make the final cut, I will provide you with the original high-res picture.

That pic with the stone lightposts and the bus is one of my favorites - but I understand how the post does detract from the car. We have actually used that picture to show off some high-end giclee printing capabilities - the high-res pic has a ton of things to challenge a printer. Chromes and metallics, reflections, high-contrast primary and secondary colors, line-art/text, earth tones/natural colors and sky...all in one pic. That being said, I get that it may not be an ideal choice for a calendar. I'm just happy to be in the running

I'll try to take some better pics of my 993 since my first ones didn't make the cut.

Well worth the sacrifice imho, that really is an excellent shot!

Come on cabriolet owners! If we can't take at least one of the summer months that will be a pretty poor showing so dig through your summer photos and see what ya got.

Out of curiosity, what didn't you like about mine: cropping or background?

I too noticed the lack of cabrios and speedsters. Sad it is.

However - the shots from JeremyD are good ones, except the photos edges are too close to the car.

If either of these (and I especially like the second one, except that the bottom of the pic is too close to the tires) are crops of larger of larger photos, then we have an option for July or August. The problem is - I really like the pics you chose for July & August.....

You're welcome. I'll swap out your pic with a bus for a pic with tall buildings behind (with top portion cropped out to reduce height).

I do like your 1st pic alot but it's too "hazy" for a calendar. Sorry.

Overhead wires, wild weeds in background are a few problems.

There's a good chance it will be in a calendar. Send me a high resolution photo.

You're welcome! I'll let everyone know when it's ready. Planned sale date at end of December assuming I receive high resolution photos from all who made the cut and honorees.

Mike, With so many great looking 911's, you have your hands full on this one.
With that said I'd have to also vote J.J.'s car and picture for reconsideration toward making the cut. What a great looking car and picture, no doubt a money shot:

And then (for your non-tail) needs (although possibly cropped too tight in the rear) Kjellsve's pic looks sweet too:

Just a couple more thoughts for you from the sidelines Thanks for your hard work.

.
I know, I wasn't complaining. That was a close to 10 year old, 1.3MP camera.

I vote for JJ, too - one of the best pics I have seen.

How about my "mid year" beauty! This was taken this past Fall in the Lake Simcoe area of Ontario.

Fair enough on the wires but those "wild weeds" are genuine 100% natural Pacific NorthWest foliage! No contrived artsy fartsy scenery here, I was just out on a Sunday drive as Herr Porsche intended.

I like your first shot there Jeremy. Come on the rest of you, cough up some photos of your lovely cabriolets...
