Inner Door Cap Options

The inner door top covers (see the picture below from our host's catalog) are NLA, according to our host.

Mine are less than perfect, but replacements would be nice way to begin to clean things up in the car. (Then maybe an Appbiz RS America door panel )

Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I might source new covers?

Any suggestions for alternate covers?

Thanks.

Cover the ones you have with vinyl, leather?

Trim parts can be very difficult to locate.

Have you searched the used parts forum?

With patience, I have located a few NLA parts from members.

Good luck,

Gerry

You may have to search hard for this, but I do remember someone on this forum refinishing/refreshing their own, using materials that can be found at your local hardware store. IIRC, the same technique was used to "repair" a dash. Wasn't perfect, but a lot cheaper than buying a new dash.

I'll see if I can find a link.

here's the dash repair thread:

If you don't have leather covered door tops, it seems to me that this technique could work. If you don't want to try, then keep an eye on the classifieds. These definitely come up from time to time and I've seen some in excellent shape.

Good luck!

DC Auto, Parts Heaven, or other dismantlers for used replacements. You're not going to find new ones anywhere.

I took mine to an upholsterer & got them recovered for about $50 IIRC.

Do you have a local Shoe Cobbler? He works with leather, has the tools and can probably do for very little money. I gave my Cobbler some red RS America seat belt material which he turned into matching door pulls for me. Cost me $9 and they look great.
