'88 911 fuel system information

I am finding difficulty in getting information and a detailed or comprehensive diagram of the entire fuel, emissions, vacuum line system for 1987 - 1989 3.2 911. I find portions like: Fuel filler cap, tank and pump, fuel filter (yet with accumulator which isn't on model years), Mass flow, injector rails, charcoal canister. Each of these diagrams have lines terminating into space without reference to their next connection.

Nothing detailing connection all of these systems:
1. All vacuum lines,
2. All three lines of the charcoal canister,
3. Which lines connect where like to the Thermo Value on the back side of the throttle body,
4. Where does the line splitter connection to from the regulators.
5. Return lines

Any suggestions of reference materials?

Bentley Service manual for Carrera........

Have you looked at the Bentley Service manual for 911 Carrera? More detail info you need? Get the factory shop manuals for Carrera ('84-'89). These are the two (2) best reference manuals to have for DIYers.

Thanks for the suggestion of Bentleys. This manual doest not show the entire diagram only sections. It also does not show the back side of the throttle body nor does it list all the connections. Does the shop manual show these details and have entire diagram?

I know what you mean, and coupled with some of the errors in the bentley, it is a little aggravatin'. The workshop manuals are more prone to show ala carte component repair, but a system over view would be cool (I think bentley tries to cover it a little). Santa got me a book on the DME which I haven't read yet. This decal which you may have in the eng compartment) may help on the vacuum system, but 2 vac lines are not shown on the cannister, nor is the brake booster vac line depicted (off of venturi perhaps?).

System figures are out there somewhere.

Thanks Dan

The two lines that come together are missing in bentleys and other sources: the Temp or Thermo switch/valve from the oil tank/limiter/air valve and the accumulation of the "Y" or "T" sets from the regulator and damper/air valve . Clear photos from the front side of the engine with the source of these lines labeled would be beneficial to many.

The figure on bentley page 200-2 leaves a little to be desired (DME mgmnt) but comes the closest off the top of my head. My pic below isn't complete either.

BTW, please introduce yourself with a pic of your car in a separate thread when you get a chance. Rite of passage thing

Does the small diameter braided hose from the carbon canister connect into the thermo valve (robins egg blue) along side the Y/T lines from the damper, regulator and air valve from the limiter on the oil tank?

very nice pic!

I can't answer that directly. I will try to see how it is laid out in the morn.
I do not easily see the canister line in the vicinity when I try to look at the engine. I do see that the small braided line to the thermo valve comes directly from the Air Valve (as seen in the decal fig). (confirmed on mine).

FWIW, I also noticed that the cruise control is not indicated on the decal figure - it has 2 braided vac lines, one from a "T" which, if on the figure, would be to the left of the "Venturi tube" (this line would proceed to the brake booster I think). The other cruise control line drops into a hole fwd of the engine into a bulkhead hole in the firewall (from there, I don't know).

On the pic, I should have taken multiple angles, because as you can see, the lines block themselves from a good view unfortunately.
