Dead Pedal Difference - Coupe vs Targa

I've done the searches and asked a number of people. Does anyone know the difference??

I've picked up a used coupe dead pedal and positioned it in place. Seems to sort of fit. Looks perhaps a little high and I'm questioning the angle.

If anyone knows, it would be helpful to share.

Many thanks.

Our Targas have that protusion at the foot wells.

You need a Dead Pedal that will fit a Cab or Targa.

Something shorter and narrower to clear the clutch pedal adequately.

Take care when you screw it down, you may need to add some weather adhesive on the opposite side to keep the moisture out.

My dead pedal in my cab was not a great fit...targas and cabs share the same interior dimensions. I'm used to it now.

I needed to pick up the bike at a shop and the GF drove it home, she thought it was the clutch pedal.....

Wasn't so bad.....she counted the pedals BEFORE she fired it up and asked why there were 4. She's pretty smart for a blonde. She did kill the engine a couple of times before she got the hang of it. She drives a Pontiac Solstice five speed.

What she REALLY objected to was the right now steering and stiff suspension.....as to Valets.....my ride has NEVER had one warm the seat.

Maybe I'm the only one with a targa that does it because the carpet in the area is pretty worn down anyway, but for me, it seems like there is a dead pedal there already because of how far in to the interior that bulkhead intrudes. It seems to give enough flat space to use as a foot rest/dead pedal. The obvious side effect being what I already mentioned, dirtying up/wearing out the carpeting.

It works well for me... For now. But I don't know if I'll be doing the same thing when I install the "linen" colored sliverknit carpet set that I bought from here several months ago.

When I install that, I'm sure I'll be looking for a dead pedal.

Umm, yeah.

Michael
