Carmagic LED Dashboard Light Question

I recently purchase this kit from Carmagic and replaced all the bulbs…what a difference!! My question to the group is regarding the green bulb. The housing that this bulb goes into doesn’t want to recess all the way “home”, as a result, the green bulb is dim and from the drivers side does look “recessed”. Can you tell me if I should apply a little extra pressure to sink it flush with the instrument gage? I stuck some green "tie wire" in the cavity and there seems to be PLENTY of room for it to go all the way in.

Anyone done this recently?

Try a little grease or WD-40. Some of mine are fairly tight, but they do go all the way in.

It should go all the way. There is one, maybe the clock that has the plastic spacer that goes on it as it will bottom out if pushed to deep.

I had a similar problem and a little twisting/turning of the bulb holder helped seat one of my bulbs. Mine didn’t pop in; it slowly eased its way to flush with the slight twisting.

Additional Question: How did everyone orientate their bulbs? I recall my instructions just say “left/right”, but it wasn’t clear if that meant the bulb was supposed to shine left/right (meaning the LED board is vertical) or if the LED board itself was supposed to be left/right (horizontal).

Got it!

Thanks for the advice. Removing the steering wheel gave me better access. I "gently" used a Dremel, some sand paper, and steel wool to clean everything up. A little WD-40 and some elbow grease and in she went. Problem solved.

Glad you got it sorted, Larry. Sometimes a bit of gentle persuasion goes a long way.

If you don’t mind, could you tell me how you orientated / pointed your LEDs? Which way do you have the lights shining?

Hi Grantmax

The Carmagic LED light bulbs are "flat?" inside. The light is projected 180 degrees if that makes any sense. The instructions tell you how to orientate the bulbs to get best illumination. Hopefully these photos show what I mean.
