Under Dash ducting

The blower motors under the dash have two small duct tubes routing hot air from the rear of the car to the dash. I want to replace the smaller of the two ducts with this stuff:
Duct Hose sold by the foot

Any problems with this? I realize that it is not 300-500 degree rated SCAT ducting, but thought that it might be better than the tattered stuff that I currently have...and it is only going to be $10 for both sides!

The replacement ducting in the Pelican catalog is like $15 for one side before shipping.

It should work as long as the diameters are the same or close. I used wet/dry vacuum hose. No issues, yet :D

BTW if you need a Y adaptor, they are impossible to find, the one that connect to A/C and from Blower to side vents. I used an ABS 1" sink drain plumbing merge adaptor worked perfectly, painted black and now is stealthy

lol, i love it. I was thinking of vacuum hose too, but replacement hoses weren't cheap so I opted for this stuff. I took a lighter to a section of it to see just what kind of torture it might take even momentarily and it burnt up pretty quick so I'll report back after it gets tested on the car.

Thanks for your input!

When I installed the Carrera footwell blowers in my '78 SC, I used "heat riser" pipe to make this connection. Heat riser pipe is a spiral metalized pipe that will withstand high temp. FYI, heat risers were used on carburated cars to activate the automatic choke, some risers used this type of pipe to connect the exhaust manifold to the choke "stove". I measured th size of the small duct it had to connect to, went to my FLAPS and found a "replacement kit" that had approx. the right sized pipe, clamped it on, works fine.

BTW, I think the "kit" was about $5.00.

Several folks here have recommended using aircraft ducting from this company. I believe it is a bit more tolerent to heat.
