Cool way to seach this (any) forum
Hello,
I've been using google advanced search to find a lot of great info on this site. I thought I'd share for anyone who may not know how to use it. 1) Open up the 911 technical forum to where you can see Threads in Forum 2) Left click on the browser history bar and copy, you should see this: Porsche 911 Technical Forum - Pelican Parts Technical BBS 3) Open a google page and click on Advanced search. In the top box Find web pages that have... all these words: type what you're interested in searching: bleeding brakes..winter storage, whatever. 4) In the bottom Search within a site or domain: left click and copy the Porsche 911 Technical Forum - Pelican Parts Technical BBS 5) you will see all posts that relate to your topic. I save this to my favorites and when you bring it up on favorites you can just change the topic to search for some other topic. Thanks for the great info! Squid 87 911 Carerra |
It works! Thanks!
Its also neat to see all the images within the forum.. |
You can also search using numbers e.g., "3.0 misfire"
Edit - Agree - the pics are cool. |
Awesome, thanks for the advice. Just tried it and it works better than the normal search feature. I've always had trouble finding things with the Pelican search feature.

Very cool!
Thanks for sharing that. |
Thanks, Squid, this will make searches a lot easier.

Yes, that is good advice. The short cut is to type the following after your search term. It probably makes sense to bookmark any google search with the addition criteria below, then you can just replace the search term.
