Help: Brake fluid overflow line

Hello

I just had my car painted and found out that the brake fluid reservoir overflow line has not been properlly installed.

Can you please tell me the factory path for that hose?

My car is a 911 carrera, 915 transmission, year 1985.

Thanks

It basically runs the length of the fender ( near the shut line with the trunk lid) toward the front of the car.....and escapes to the outside thru a difficult-to-find opening near the front of the main chassis, somewhere in the vicinity of the front suspension pivot. This small diameter line is "captured" by a bent metal tab on the outside of the car to hold it in-place. Follow the fog light wires backwards from the lights.... until the point where the wire penetrates the main chassis, and this small clip holding the overflow line will be nearby. Perhaps some here have a pic?

Better to run it to a small plastic bottle below the reservoir then drain the bottle every couple of years.

You can get a small plastic bottle like this at Harbor Freight. Also, make sure to use tubing that is rated for brake fluid. Brake fluid is nasty stuff and it will bleed through hose that's not up to the task.

Hey M1, aircraft mechanic?

Not me, but I've picked up on habits from my father and brother, who are both pilots and fly for a living. I tried, but never caught the bug like them.

In fact, I still have, covet and use a pair of safety wire pliers my father gave to me as a gift many years ago.

nice work, I am and it's a good habit!!
