Ultrasonic Cleaners & Fuel Injectors

I read that some people send their fuel injectors out to be ultrasonic cleaned.

Is it safe to totally immerse the injectors in an ultrasonic cleaner?

Any effect other than cleaning?

Just wondering, it seems like a good way to get them clean.

It has no bad side effects and yes it's a very effective way of getting them clean.

If they're still on the engine you can get good results from using an cleaning additive in your fuel.
Seafoam work very well. Search YouTube for vids of people "Seafoaming" their engines.

Here's just one video.

I bought a lab quality ultrasonic cleaner several years ago to clean motorcycle carbs and my SC injectors. Works very well.

Regards,

Jerry

What solution or chemical are you using in your ultrasonic cleaner for injectors?

considering the hassle of getting them in/out and replacing the seals/etc. you might consider sending them to Witch Hunter and having them properly cleaned and tested for flowrate and pattern, WH will also provide the new proper seals

Here's a video of how an ultrasonic cleaner can work on piston full of carbon. YouTube - Omegasonics Piston Cleaning #1
