6 point harness shoulder strap length?

Seems 50" is a common shoulder strap length on the 6 point harnesses. I measured what I thought I needed and came up with 55". What are you guys using? Is 50" enough and I measured wrong?

I am using a harness bar for now, but will eventually upgrade to a roll bar.

Shorter is always better. 55" must mean you are attaching at the back seat, seat belt anchors and over the guide bar. The straps do stretch in the event of a frontal impact and they can stretch quite a bit, so be mindful of that.
