Is it a Euro car or did the previous owner do the H4s and Euro tail lights? Either way, don't change anything on the exterior. If mine wasn't original, (Except for the H4s) I'd go for that exterior look.

Very Nice...I hope you enjoy it for many years to come...(or until the next 'gotta have this one' model comes along)

Great car and you're 100% correct that the experience of ownership is best shared. This site makes porsche ownership affordable imho, and a hell of a lot more fun. I'm no mechanic but I feel the knowledge i've gained over the years, gives me confidence to drive around in my old can.

Keep your head on a swivel and be safe!

dsmeyer - I have corresponded with Norbert a few times, he validated that my VIN was indeed a factory M491. I am on his register, 1 of 25 listed 1988 M491 US cabs.

grendiers - I love the Nelson area, that was on my list of cruising spots, so I will drop you a line when I head over there. Gotta fight it out with all the Harley riders near the Nelson Creamery !

I have ordered "88 M491" vanity plates, so if you that plate in the midwest, you'll know it's me.

Nice car, low mileage considering the age.

That would be great, the roads here are fun, but with only one P-car in the county, mine, a bit boring! We avoid the Harley crowd by not opening till 5pm. They are usually on their way home by then!

Welcome and good luck with your Black Beauty. Remember that these cars love to be driven often and with the tach needle hovering near the red line! Enjoy.

Thanks all - As far as the references to the H4 headlamps... I believe the headlamps were switched, because I noticed that that the headlamp to fender seal was missing on one side. So I ordered one from Pelican Parts - 911-631-115-02-M136.
