I have procrastinated this job for over a year, but not as bad as I thought. The biggest thing I struggled with is apply the 3M adhesive glue to the flanges and headliner and not getting glue over everything else. I ended up applying small sections of glue and while it was getting tacky I cleaned up with mineral spirits then soap + water and then hand lotion to prevent my hands from drying out. Slow but tedious.

Any one need any clips?

David

After 48 hours I removed the binder clips and a few days later this is what I found.
I thought the 3M glue was stronger than that.

That glue should hold. Did you clean the surface properly and allow the adhesive to tack up? That surface doesn't look very smooth or maybe that's just the adhesive. Which 3M did you use?

You may want to put this on a separate thread for more exposure.

Re-glued and installed the factory clips. Previously I used 3M fast tack adhesive.

3m makes about a thousand different adhesives. You're going to have to be more specific about what you used.

3M and Permatex have adhesives specifically for headliners. Not sure you have the best available for this application.

I would like to request the clips for my headliner for my 73T. Any tips or glue recommendations would be greatly appreciated as well! Thanks!

Thanks for responding but I've already done my headliner.
