?best value SC FrSeat replacement leather?

Some of the quotes that I have had for new replacement leather coverings for my SC front seats are crazy e.g. $1k

Anyone found a much lower-priced source for reasonable quality? How much did you pay?

Why not buy a pair of good cloth Recaros? It's always baffled me why people want leather seats, other than that it's become some sort of luxury icon. They're hot inthe summer and cold in the winter, and your butt slides around when you're driving aggressively.

I paid just recently @ $500 per leather skin for each front seat and an additional $50 in labor each to firm up the foam and install. From what I found shopping around this was a pretty decent price. Maybe there is someone out there that got "that great deal" but then again I can drive over to where the work was done and show them if they made a mistake. The place did a really good job and I really decided not to be cheap with the seats. FYI I got this done in Charlotte, NC but I know they bought the skins from some place in CA that manufactured alot of them. If you find the source you might get them cheaper.

I have sat in a bunch of Porsche factory seats, some I really love like the 89 911 sport seats, some I hate like the 91 911 Turbo
seats.I like the factory high back leather seats in my 83SC though
BUT.... One of the most comfortable seats I have ever sat in is the Recaro SRD ! and for about $550.00 each,if I needed new seats this would be my choice.Find someone who has these seats and give them a test sit.
