Painting my 1981 911sc

I now have to decide what color to paint my pcar since it's stripped, repaired and ready for paint.. Presently, it is a gold/tan/brown exterior with black trim. The interior is tan and dark brown. I'm thinking of changing the exterior color to a dark Blue.
Am I asking for trouble if the color is so much different from the tan original? Or is it better to stay with a shade closer to what is there now.
Love to hear all your comments and opinions.

Tx! john

Go for it!

I changed my brown car to silver and love it.

I would paint it whatever colour you like. I say this because your car (like mine) is not a rare model and will be extremely valuable one day. Do what makes you happy. I am going to change mine from dark green (originally orange) to silver soon.

I would suggest stripping all the old paint right off the car, that way it doesn't matter what colour it used to be, a good complete job and you can't tell.

Keep us posted and lets see some pics.
