Rebuild alternator in Houston?

Where is a good place to get my 1978SC alternator rebuilt in Houston, Texas? Or should I just buy the one from Pelican Parts?

I was in the same position not too long ago and I could not find anyone in the Houston area with the alternator I needed. I also could not find anyone who could rebuild. What I did was ordered one from Pelican, next-day air to my home and installed. This was on a Thursday and by early Sat. I was on the raod. Still running!

Have you tried the Yellow Pages for alternator rebuilders? The alternator on my 84 went bad, and I found a local foreign alternator rebuilder who rebuilt it for $89. No sense paying the "Porsche Tax" if you don't have to. A quick Yahoo search revealed these places:

Wow. That's quite a list. Thank you.

RAM, if I can't get it rebuilt, I'll definately go Pelican.

Edit: AAA Alternator Svc
(713) 869-5849 2111 Washington Ave
Houston, TX

AAA said they can do it in a couple of hours. I'll report back on their service.

There's nothing special about these alternators and probably any of those shops can rebuild it for you for less than $100.

On the wall of my shop we have a list of a couple places that we use for alternator builds/ starter builds I'll see if I can get them. We use them all the time and the stuff comes out great.

Here's the place we use at my shops we use them A LOT (probably have sent 50+) haven't had a fault with them yet, and the repairs are relatively quick.
