red heater knobs

I have a 83 911 targa . the red heater control knobs between the seats have turned a pink color from fading , Can they brought back to red or just replace them. thanks in advance .

While dye works, I used Safety Red Krylon. To remove, put a crescent wrench on the flat metal shaft and gently tap with light weight hammer.
