Question Air Vent Motor 1970 911T

My air vent motor works well but when i first turn it on it squeeks and then quits after a few seconds is this a belt, bearing,fan motor going out i need some help figering this out before i dive into it. Thanks

It's likely the bushings the fan and motor spin in are running dry. There is no belt in there. You can try to desassemble the fan and lube the bushings, but it doesn't come apart easilly. I had the same trouble, and was able to get the thing lubed to the extent that it no longer made an awful sound.

My memory is a little fuzzy, but I think I just hit it with some 3 in 1 oil. It was disappointing that I couldn't get the unit disassembled for a proper clean and lube, but that didn't seem possible. It's not intended to be taken apart. In any event, mine went from making an unbearable screech to working as new, so I'd encourage you to dive in and do what you can do.
