944 Fuchs on a 911

Just found a set of Fuchs from a 944. Before I buy them, will these 15x7 and 15x8 fit on any year 911's? Don't know the offsets, but seem to believe that they are 23.3mm and 10.6mm.

from what I understand they will fit up to carrera I believe the 964 and later have bigger brakes that will require different offset

I assume these are for your 912? you should be fine

Pre 85.5 944 or post? Makes a difference IIRC.

15s should fit '78 - '89 (SCs / Carrera) with no drama. Earlier cars would need "flairing" to get them under the fenders. These are getting more expensive as a number of 911 and '44 racers are switching back to 15s.

this makes sense early cars didnt have the flares so if these are for your stock 912 without later flares they wont work

The offset for 944 changed in '87 and that's when they stopped making Fuchs for 944 and switched to Phone Dials & Design 90's. There are no late offset Fuchs. Many of the late offset 944 owners are searching for Fuchs only to find that they don't exist for their cars.

911 Fuchs have a 911.xxx.xxx.xx part #
944 Fuchs have a 951.xxx.xxx.xx part #

There were no 15" 944 Fuchs, 944s through 1986 that have 15s used 911 7ET23.3 and 8ET10.6

There are 16" 911 and 16" 944 Fuchs, both come in 7" or 8" widths,

the 911 Fuchs 7x16 have ET23.3, 8ET10.6
the 944 Fuchs 7x16 have ET23.3 and more brake clearance, 8x16 also have ET23.3

the 944 8x16 Fuchs have been fitted to the back of non-SC/Carrera flare cars though it is very tight, when used in the back of an SC/Carrera flared car they want ~14mm(or more) spacers, they have also been used in front but it's a really marginal fit there

the 944 7x16 can be used front or rear on any 911 though again it's very tight in the back of a non SC/Carrera flare car.

911 7 x16 can be used front or rear on any 911, again it's tight on a non-SC/Carrera flare car

911 8x16 are used in back on SC/Carrera flare cars

I ran 7" front and 8" rear 951 Fuchs on my early 911 with lighly massaged rear flares.

With 1/4" spacer they fit over the 930 calipers with no trouble, but I did have to reroute the oil lines. ;)

I assume 16x9 Fuchs were from a 911 turbo?
